Detailed Overview
This mid-range model in Gold’s Gym’s stride trainer series retails for $499 through the company’s website, but many other websites offer this model for almost half that price.
This model is designed with Silent Magnetic Resistance™ (SMR), has a weight capacity of 250 pounds, and a fixed stride length of 14 inches (quite short). The flywheel weight is not disclosed via their website, which isn’t a good sign. The rear-drive trainer also only offers a mere 12 digital levels of resistance.
The console is designed with a blue-tinted LCD display with 6 workout programs and the company doesn’t even specify the size of the LCD display, suggesting that it’s pretty tiny. From the display, users can at least track speed, distance, resistance, time, calories burned and pulse. If you want to also track your heart rate, there are built-in dual-grip EKG heart rate monitor grips on the stationary handlebars.
Gold’s Gym offers a no warranty on the frame and 90-days on parts and labor, an almost embarrassingly stingy warranty package suggesting that the company has little confidence in the durability of their product. You really get what you pay for with this machine (next to nothing).

The Bottom Line
Ironically, this mid-range model retails for over $100 more than the top-model in the series (the 410). For this reason, we would strongly suggest going with the more inexpensive 410 model that has more features, a more advanced console, a longer stride, and adjustable pedals. Since all of these models in this series are so inexpensive, why not spend a little bit more to get a few more features that you’ll genuinely use? If you are going to choose an elliptical trainer from this line of stride trainers by Gold’ Gym, go with the 410. Do not be tempted by the low price. You will regret it almost instantly.
