Detailed Overview

The E 11.7 is the second trainer from entry level in the NordicTrack Elite Series of front drive elliptical trainers, offered for just $999. The E 11.7 boasts an incredibly powerful flywheel weight of 28 pounds, which is almost unheard of with trainers under the $1,000 price point. Match that with a 350 pound weight capacity and Silent Magnetic Resistance ™ Technology drive system and you have an incredibly quiet, smooth and natural feel. Putting this trainer together is quite easy with NordicTrack’s relatively new snap assembly, which allows users to quickly assemble their trainer is three very simple steps. This trainer also boasts a number of customizable options. First, users can adjust the incline with the push of just one button, from 0 to 20 degrees, using the new power ramp feature, ideal for toning the muscles of the lower body and doing interval training for heart rate pulsing workouts. With 24 digital levels of resistance, also customizable with the simple touch of a button, you can really get in a challenging workout every time. Perhaps the most attractive customizable feature on this trainer are the adjustable pedals, which feature unique textured cushioning and three options to choose from for optimum heel toe angle, depending on your preferences. When it comes to the console, this model features a dual color backlit console with a 6 inch screen and iFit compatibility, but the module, nor subscription, are included. Users can also choose from 32 different built-in workout programs, and enjoy the iPod compatible music port with two 2 inch speakers. Heart rate sensors are built into the stationary handlebars, but a wireless chest strap is also included for easy hands-free monitoring. When it comes to warranty protection, NordicTrack offers a lifetime warranty on the frame, three years on parts and one year on labor.

Our Favorite Features

  • Power adjustable incline, adjustable pedals and stride
  • Power ramp feature
  • Price to features ratio is impressive
  • iFit enabled
  • Snap assembly

Our Least Favorite Features

  • No reading rack or accessories tray
  • iFit module not included
  • Heart rate sensors are on the stationary handlebars
  • Front drive design can be bothersome for some people

The Bottom Line

The NordicTrack E 11.7 is one of the best buys on the market, featuring an impressive number of customizable features, a well-built design, and a price that can’t be beat. Like other entry level models in this series, if you are looking for bells and whistles with entertainment options, you may want to look elsewhere as this console is lacking a full color display, touch screen, or web capabilities, but if you are just looking for a durable trainer that can be used by most anyone, this trainer is for you.
